This (St Louis Governing Body meeting) is the best Governing body meeting that I have attended and I have heard that from mostof the delegates that attended. I was confident in Amit and his team and I am glad that I helped in getting this event to St Louis. No one can raise a finger against it. I applaud the great job.

I have known Amit for more than 10 years. He’s a very hard working honest an enthusiastic person. I have been associated with him in certain projects including various fundraising dinners especially at our temple. In 2016 and in 2017 Amit with his group Geetanjali music participated in two fundraising dinners for the Hindu temple of Saint Louis at which time we collected more than $650,000. This was because of combination of lot of enthusiasm among people in donating money and the environment created by good music program provided by Amit. He became so engrossed in the fund raising that he became one of the donors by donating half of the music group’s remuneration to the Temple.

In December of 2021, I was instrumental in arranging his concert for (Diwali program) Gujarati Samaj of St. Louis. He was very enthusiastic, thorough and was able to round up quite a few singers and instrumentalists at a very decent price. This reflects his organizational skills.

He’s a very humble person.
AAPI could use his services for sure given his skills.
I wish him good luck.

I have known Dr. Amit Chakrabarty MD,MS,FRCS,FICS for more than 20 years as a friend,AAPI leader and singer and entertainer. In every capacity he has shouldered,he simply excelled and won the hearts of each and every person he came in contact with. This, in my opinion, is the true definition of a leader who always believes in not just empty words but real action. His zeal and dedication in each and every project he takes is a true testament to the person with the highest morals, the shining example is the way he worked tirelessly during the COVID pandemic time as Chairman of Apshini,to arrange for delivery of oxygen concentrator, vaccines, and other medical supplies to the remotest places in India and other countries.
In the fields of continuing medical education he has been providing AAPI members and the entire medical fraternity with the highest quality topics in the field of Urology and has won universal accolade as a teacher and educator.
In addition to his hectic schedule of work and education,he finds time to entertain AAPI members and the community with quality Bollywood music under the banner of,Geetanjali Group.
In conclusion,Dr Amit Chakrabarty,is an asset for any organization he is affiliated with and I am very confident with his dedication, leadership qualities and vision will take AAPI to ever greater heights which it constantly strives for.
May god bless this noble soul and his beautiful family and entrust upon him all the energy and enthusiasm to serve the medical fraternity through AAPI leadership and humanity as a whole,my best of wishes to him for successfully unleashing all his future endeavors and projects.

It is a pleasure to write a testimonial for Dr. Chakrabarty, who is running for Secretary, National AAPI,2020. I know Dr. Chakrabarty, professionally and Personally for last 25 years. He has been one of the founding member’s of Alabama API and is a lifelong honorary member of our chapter. He has been a board member of National AAPI for several years. I have seen him personally organizing several academic, cultural and charitable events locally and nationally. He is smart and does a quality job in any event he takes over and takes pride in his work.

Academically he is astute and has done a lot of excellent CME talks in Urology. With his background in music, he is a high quality entertainer. I do not see any other person highly qualified to run for AAPI secretary right now. I am going to vote for him and I highly recommend you do so. I am confident he will take AAPI to greater heights.

I recommend for you to go to his website Amitforaapi.com to learn about him more.

DIBYAJIBAN MAHAPATRA, MD

Past President, Alabama API
Regional Director, SE Region, AAPI

I have known Amit ever since I moved back to Huntsville in 1996. Over the years I have seen him grow as an individual as well as a leader. He reinvigorated our local organization to become one of the most active AAPI chapters in the country. Achieving that in a small town like Huntsville is no small feat. He motivated and cherry-picked our wonderful past presidents to include Gautham Mulpur, Smita Shah, Matha Arun and Tarak Vasavada. Several years ago there was a void in the executive committee of aAPI and an urgent need to get members to serve. Even though I was reluctant he was able to convince and motivate me to take over the leadership. I do not think anybody else would have been able to do this.

Amit served for two years as President of our local aAPI in 2013 to 2015. Under his leadership we saw a very successful annual meeting with timely CME topics and enjoyable Pickwick Belle River Boat Cruise. He showed his fund raising ability with the Pankaj Udhas Show here in Huntsville. It took courage and leadership to put a team together to accomplish this. Over $80,000 was raised for aAPI Scholarship fund and Childhood obesity awareness.

He is very active outside of our local chapter. He is a member of AAPI Distinguished Speaker Club 2020 and is on the editorial board of AAPI Medical Journal. He is Chairman of AAPI Virtual Concert Series 2020 and 2021. He was the convener of AAPI Fall Governing Body meeting in St. Louis October 2019. He was Board of Trustees 2017-2020, Regional Director for two years 2004-2006, He is Chairman of AAPI Ethics and Grievances Committee 2011-2012, He was Chairman of AAPI Journal Resource Committee 2012-2013. He was President of Indian Medical Council of St. Louis 2017-2019. He chaired Urology Forum Global Health Summit 2017-2019. He is member of AAPI Bylaws, Membership, Ethics and Grievances, Alumni and IT Committees. He is the Founder and Organizer of the popular show” AAPIs Got Talent & Mehfil”. He has attended numerous National and International AAPI events including Annual conventions, Governing Body meetings, Global Summits and Pravasi Bharatiya Divas over the last 15 years.

I could go on and on. I have not even talked about Amit as an Entertainer! Please know this, Amit has a sound vision for AAPI. He will provide much needed strong leadership. Under his leadership he will get AAPI on a sound financial footing and will bring transparency and accountability. He will attract new generation of AAPI members to take leadership roles and get AAPI to new heights as the largest ethnic organization in the USA.

Again, I request you to support Amit and make sure you vote him to become Vice President of AAPI. Every vote does count. Please vote. Only a handful of votes have made the difference in recent elections. For more information please visit his website at www.amitaapi.com.  I wish him the best.

Hello Friends,
I am earnestly requesting you to vote for Dr. Amit Chakrabarty as vice-president of AAPI, 2022.
Here are the reasons for my passionate plea:
Dr. Amit Chakrabarty has been tirelessly serving AAPI for more than 25 years, a claim that few others can make.
It is amazing how much he is committed to everything that is related to AAPI- whether it is a local chapter in Missouri, Alabama or anywhere else in US or India, or working diligently on the governing body of AAPI or spearheading educational activities- including CMEs, or spending countless hours for Covid relief in US and India.
This is not to mention entertainment. Just think about how many times he has put a smile on your and your spouse’s face. In fact, he has entertained AAPI members and their spouses at every convention, every local and national conference, every meeting-formal and informal, every AAPI tour. He is the founder of AAPI convention’s extremely popular programs, “AAPI’s Got Talent,” and “Mehfil.”
It is inconceivable that after working the whole day at every AAPI Convention, he still has the energy to hand the microphone to AAPI members to sing till late in the night.

His energy, enthusiasm and leadership qualities inspires awe in everyone he meets.
As a senior AAPI member once mentioned, Amit Chakrabarty is IN the fabric of AAPI!
Dear Friends, It is time to vote your conscience;
It is time to vote for Amit Chakrabarty as Vice-President of AAPI, 2022.
You owe it to AAPI.
And most importantly, you owe it to your selves.

Dr. Mukesh Lathia, MD

I have never done this in the past but feel happy and inclined this time to stand for our friend and leader Dr. Amit Chakrabarty.

I have known the dynamic energetic versatile, personable and ever smiling Amit Da for several years now. Aside from founding and leading several other humanitarian projects he has been associated with AAPI for more than 25 years in several leadership roles, most recently as a treasurer. For instance, AAPI CME past year has been superb under his chairmanship. He is widely known in the large AAPI community, locally, state(s) or nationally! His COVID relief efforts were stellar and motivational! He is a natural entertainer and is the founder of AAPI’s popular programs, “AAPI’s Got Talent,” and “Mehfil.”

Not only because he is a good friend, and not that other candidates are not good, I personally think that Amit da with his bubbling energy, enthusiasm and leadership qualities, is just a better choice. Amit Chakrabarty is IN the fabric of AAPI! I request you as a friend and colleague to consider this plea, and chose Amit Chakrabarty as Vice-President of AAPI, 2022.

Dear All,
Hope everyone is safe and well. We are so close to the first day of spring and it’s that time of the year when we all look forward to the blooming flowers and warmer weather. The past year has been tough for all of us and we hope to see some positive change this spring. We will likely plan to meet as a group soon for socially distanced gathering.

The voting process for AAPI elections has always been a mailed ballot process, which was cumbersome and would not have a great participation. I am guilty of not participating in some of the voting process in the past due to access issues.

This year the voting process is online and the voting process is very easy and simple.

Voting is an opportunity to change and this AAPI election is very important for Alabama AAPI as one of our key member is contesting for the vice president post.

Dr. Amit Chakrabarty, who is the founding member of Alabama AAPI is contesting for the Vice President post for National AAPI.

Amit has always helped our local chapter in various charity and fundraising events. Apart from being the founding chairperson for AAPI Scholarship program, which supports local Indian students, Amit has helped fundraising events for the Hindu Temple, Nurse’s food drive, providing provisions & sanitizers for Indian students in UAH during COVID lockdown this past year and Winter Blanket drive  of 2019 and 2020.

Dr Chakrabarty has always been helping young Indian Physicians and is an ardent proponent of addressing Green card backlog issues for Indian Physicians.
Please visit https://amitforaapi.com for his complete agenda if he gets elected for AAPI Vice president 2021.

Dr. Chakrabarty is very committed to our local aAPI and just to quote one of my many experiences, Amit drove 7 hours just to attend the aAPI winter drive 2021 to support us in a noble cause.

Provided below is the process of online voting with the weblink. Please take a few minutes of your time and vote.

PAVAN PANCHAVATI, MD

Amit, you have been the hardest working AAPI leader I know.  You work well with one and all, helping each and every President of AAPI in promoting AAPI’s  values and vision.  You are a scholar and always willing to share your knowledge and expertise globally. There is a never dull moment when you are around.  You presented so many stress busting cultural and entertainment activities through out the past year during this difficult period of pandemic. You are a natural leader and you bring people together to set things right and make things better.

Ravi Kolli, MD

Vice President, AAPI 2020-21
Chair, AAPI Membership committee

I, on behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Hindu Cultural Center of North Alabama (HCCNA), am extremely delighted to write about Dr. Amit Chakrabarty who is an extraordinary community leader and friend. HCCNA since its inception in 1995 has been fulfilling the religious and spiritual needs of Indians in North Alabama. Amit has been a key leader in organizing several superbly successful cultural events over many years towards these goals. Of special mention, he was instrumental in organizing outstanding musical events by Usted Amjad Ali Khan, Bappi Lahiri, Talat Aziz, and Kavita Krishnamurthy. Hundreds of people enjoyed these enlightening programs thoroughly. These programs raised more than $150,000 which were utilized to further HCCNA’s mission and continued growth.

I have known Amit for over twenty years and have worked with him closely in a variety of capacities. Amit holds many roles within our community: excellent urologist, gifted singer, and outstanding community leader. His strong leadership, boundless energy, hardworking spirit, and unique vision are invaluable to any organization. His pleasant personality and innate charm brings people of all walks of life together. He demonstrates a relentless dedication to any project he undertakes and all of his projects were crowned with grand success. I have no doubt that Amit will bring these same attributes to AAPI’s national stage. His vision to improve AAPI’s financial footing and attract a new generation of AAPI members will reinvigorate AAPI’s platform and ensure its continued growth and success. I strongly endorse his candidacy for Secretary for AAPI 2020.

SUBIR K PAUL MD. FASN.

Chairman, Board of Trustees, HCCNA, Alabama.

I am writing to support my dear friend Dr. Amit Chakrabarty a candidate for the position of AAPI Secretary 2020.

I have known Amit for about 4 years when he moved to St Louis from Alabama.  Soon after he came here, he revived the St. Louis chapter from being dormant for 10 years to becoming an amazing vibrant organization.  As a president of the Chapter, he hosted the most successful AAPI governing body meeting that was, for the first time in the history of AAPI, at no cost to the parent organization.

He has worked diligently for AAPI for over two decades.  I have found him to be honest, conscientious, and trustworthy.  Most importantly he is a unifier.  I have seen his leadership capacity of getting people to rally with him and evoke a sense of belonging.

Frankly, I was a dormant member of AAPI but started to participate in AAPI activities after he came into town as I saw his enthusiasm and passion for AAPI.

One of the reasons that I had shied away from AAPI was because I was disgusted with in-fighting, negativity and petty regionalism. I almost left AAPI because of that, but thanks to Amit’s selfless dedication I have returned.  He exudes positivity.

AAPI needs an experienced, nonpartisan and non-controversial leader that will help AAPI to achieve its goal.

I often quote a fact that our revered prime minister, Mr. Modi won an absolute majority because he had supporters not just from Gujarat but from all over India.

As a life member of AAPI with an universal outlook, I appeal to you to step beyond regionalism and vote for a candidate that will bring unity and positive enthusiasm to AAPI and I believe that candidate is Amit.

YAGNESH OZA, MD

Amit Chakrabarty was President of IMC of St Louis. He has revived the organization in a big way He was behind the highly successful AAPI Governor body meeting in 2019 He is multitalented and a great asset to Indian American Physicians community

Raghunandan Dundoo, MD

Founding Member of Indian Medical Council of St. Louis & Senior AAPI member

What more can I say about Amit. I have been in AAPI for more than 30 years. It is rare to see someone so dedicated and hardworking in furthering the interests of the AAPI community. He revived our dormant AAPI chapter in St Louis and exemplified leadership and comraderie.  His most infectious quality is that he is a “people- person”, jolly and full of positive energy. I know that he will be an excellent president of AAPI. I wholeheartedly recommend him and request your support to reward his two decades of dedicated service to AAPI.

It gives me great pleasure to write a letter in support of Amit Chakrabarty, Secretary AAPI. Amit came to St. Louis few years ago. In the very first year Amit completely re-energized the STL Indian Medical Society. The Indian Doctors Association was in a moribund condition with lack of participation and lack of events. He immediately brought everyone together and started with Diwali and Valentine’s Day events which have become part of our annual ritual for St. Louis doctors.

He is dedicated, hardworking and persistent in his efforts. He was able to get whole of St. Louis metro area including Southern Illinois Physicians of Indian origin to participate in the events. He is amazing host, singer and Emcee. The highlight of his efforts were the annual AAPI Executive and BOT meetings and Diwali gala.

He is an asset to our community and a great organizer and brings leadership skills to unite all Indian physicians.

I wish him good luck and best wishes.

I strongly recommend Dr. Amit Chakrabarty for AAPI Vice President position. I have known Amit for the past 20 yrs. He served as the regional director during my presidency. He has been working with AAPI for the past several years and made significant contributions. He is honest dedicated, a unifier and team player.

Amit is a successful urologist, great speaker and talented singer. He was awarded with honorary membership in Osmania University Medical Alumni for his contributions for the Osmania Bahamian cruise.

Jagan Ailinani, MDFACR - Past President AAPI

It gives me immense pleasure to write this recommendation letter for Dr. Amit Chakrabarty, candidate for AAPI Vice President 2021. I have been closely associated with AAPI from more than 35 years. I have seen many leaders come and go. I have known Amit for more than 15 years since he was a regional director of AAPI in 2004. I have been impressed by Amit’s selfless dedication and service to AAPI consistently for AAPI. He works well with others and is a team player. He should have been the president of AAPI long time ago. AAPI needs leaders like him to unify and continue the progress that we have achieved now.

We are finally on the right track. This is the time for all of you to step up to save the organization from disruption and chaos that will happen if his competitor is elected.

INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGES

I hope the AAPI members will acknowledge your relentless determined service to this doctors organization and not to keep it regionalized which will be detrimental in the long run losing its credibility and goal. You are a winner and will lead the AAPI in the right direction making it inclusive.
Best wishes Amit

Dear Amit,
I was sad that you were unable to be our AAPI leader. Several of us feel that you were the best candidate.
I am not surprised with the barrage of negative comments! However, what is disheartening is how “low we physicians can stoop” in this ‘blame game’. Clearly, AAPI is ‘bleeding’, hence needs strong and yet humble leaders for the next 3-5,years who have a clear vision and objective to maintain continuity. Perhaps, then only we can have unity with mutual trust despite our differences.
Call me over the weekend so I can share some thoughts.

Arun P

Amit, you are a good man. I know how compartmentalize, and tribal we are. We left the country but when the façade is down, unfortunately we have the same mindset. I am telling this, because I used to get all the solicitation e mail bombarded every day. Pound per pound, no one (can) match your credentials ,contribution, and involvement in the organization to deserve the position than you, but alas, there is different sets of rules.
You deserve to win and you will next year.

Sajit B

Thank you Amit
You are an honorable man. You have great vision,  ideas and of course strong ideals. Once you are firmly seated implementing the vision will feasible.
